What we are
A Referral Line, Not a Repair Company
We are a referral service, not an appliance repair company. When you call, we connect you with an independent appliance repair company that serves your area, when one is available. That company diagnoses the appliance, explains what it found, gives you a price and does any repair you approve.
Appliances tend to fail at the worst moment: a refrigerator full of groceries the day before a party, a washer stuck full of water on a school night, a dryer that quits halfway through the week’s laundry. Searching, calling around and waiting for callbacks takes time you don’t have. Our line is meant to make that first step simpler: one number, one call, and you’re talking with a company that repairs appliances in your part of Silicon Valley.
This website is meant to be useful on its own, too. Our guides to appliance repair in Sunnyvale, CA, refrigerators, washers and dryers explain what usually goes wrong, what you can safely check and what to ask, whether you call us or not.

The details
Who Does the Repair, and How We’re Paid
About the repair companies
The companies you may be connected with are independently owned businesses. Their diagnosis, estimates, workmanship, parts, warranties and insurance belong to them, not to us. Treat them like anyone you invite into your home: ask questions, get the estimate in writing and keep copies of everything.
California regulates appliance repair. Businesses that repair major home appliances generally must register with the Bureau of Household Goods and Services, and registered dealers must follow consumer protection rules such as providing written estimates. You can look up a registration on the Bureau’s website before you approve a repair.
How we’re paid
The call is free for you. We may be paid by participating repair companies for referrals. That payment never changes what you pay the company, and you are never obligated to hire anyone we connect you with.
How we write our guides
Our guides explain how household appliances work and fail in plain language: refrigerator cooling and defrost systems, washer pumps and suspensions, dryer heat and venting, dishwasher drains and leaks, gas and electric ranges, and the premium built-ins found in many Silicon Valley kitchens. We write for homeowners and renters, and we try to say clearly when a job is for a professional.
They’re general information, not a substitute for a technician seeing the appliance in person. The most important safety advice we can give: if you smell gas, leave and call PG&E or 911 from outside; unplug anything that smells hot; and shut off the water to an appliance that’s leaking.
We take calls from Sunnyvale and nearby cities, including Santa Clara, Mountain View, Cupertino and San Jose, plus Los Altos, Campbell and Milpitas. Coverage depends on each company’s service area.
